The metal world suffered an incalculable loss when the immensely talented Trevor Strnad passed away earlier this year. And while we’ll never hear him perform new music with The Black Dahlia Murder, we’re insanely fortunate that he was so generous with his talents and willing to work with other artists for their upcoming releases.

Earlier today, Salt Lake City-based deathcore band Chelsea Grin released the single “Forever Bloom,” which features the late singer. Chelsea Grin guitarist Stephen Rutishouser said the new track is a tribute to metal’s origins and its less serious beginnings.

“‘Forever Bloom’ is a fast-paced song with a whimsical edge to it, paying homage to some of our metal roots. The video accompaniment should let you know that it isn’t all evil and darkness in the world of metal. Of course, we were very grateful to have our friend Trevor feature on this song — RIP to a legend.”

Playing mostly on the old Satanic panic days of blaming D&D and metal for all kinds of bad shit, the video posted below is a really fun watch.

All of this is in support of the band’s forthcoming double LP, Suffer in Hell. The first disc will release globally on November 11, while the second disc titled Suffer in Heaven will com out in March 17, 2023. Both are currently available via preorder, with a limited edition vinyl variant of only 50 copies produced.
